Vijay's Soccer game. Olympics. For Special Needs Children Chicago  Sunday, May  18,2014 Vijay's name was called at the special ceremony on the concluding day of his Soccer match. Special  Olympics Medal   Was adorning his neck and dangling on his chest.  He was cheered by his Coach, who trained him relentlessly, encouraging him, and his team,. the visitors, which included the parents, siblings, and Grandparents of the players. We were happy we could be present to watch Vijay's game. A special moment of happiness and sparkle in his eyes.  Made us proud as he showed it to us.  Watching Little Vijay getting ready for his soccer practice session on Wednesday was great fun. Accompanying him,, driving for almost 45 minutes to an hr, we reached the fields. We walked around the field, waiting for the other team to arrive. The sun was still bright, and glowing, but couldn't feel the warmth. It was a suburb park,  that hosted the practice session....

When people discuss in the drawing room, "Hey have you seen this news on ....blog!" I used to wonder what they are talking.  Then I thought  of making a blog and sharing my views and experiences. My blog took shape when my granddaughter helped me to create one.  SO FROM HERE, WE GO.....I was very happy to get going, thanks to  my granddaughter (Neha Ramani) and grandson (Arjun Ramani), for their inspiration! Admiring my interest in becoming tech savvy, they worked with me tirelessly, to get me to my first blog post. So here it goes. Vatsala 

Madurai Musings Every time, our stay  in Madurai is just for a day and move out the following day. This time we stayed for two full days  Saturday and Sunday , enjoyed every bit, exploring the unexplored. Visit to Gandhigram Trust , presently in Dindugal District, was a memorable one. Driving, after breakfast, we visited a temple on the outskirts of Madurai.    THIRUVADHAVOOR and  KALAMEGHAPERUMAL koil. After few minutes in each temple, we drove to Gandhgram Trust. 50 kms from here. Driving through the dry flat lands, it is intercepted by small hillocks like Sirumalai, chinnamalai, Pasumalai etc. they are covered with Plantain groves, mango, chickoo and grape  gardens. The famous jasmine shrubs and the green trees with pomegranates are a sight to admire and enjoy the fresh fruits. It is rightly called the flower and fruit bowl of the south.(( PAZHZMUDIR SOLAI) .
